05/24/04 -- Baseball Team Loses County Championship to Center
Moriches
The Varsity Baseball Team just didn't have enough left in them for game three as they lost by a score of 5 to 0 making Center Moriches the County Class "C" champion for the second time in three years. The team was only able to get 1 hit in the game. Losing pitcher was Joe Finora. Congratulations team on a great season.
05/23/04 -- Baseball Team Lose Heartbreaker to Force a Game
Three
The Varsity Baseball team looked like they were going to win the First County Championship since 1997. Going into the top of the sixth inning the team was ahead by a score of 2 to 1, but trouble occurred in the sixth. Mike Desepoli hit a 2 run homer to give the Red Devils the lead that they were able to hold on to and thus the Tuckers lost by a score of 3 to 2. Peter Rauseo had a key hit in the game that game the Tuckers a 2 to 1 lead. Tom Boucher was the losing pitcher. The team will have to regroup from this heart breaking defeat to play game three at Center Moriches tomorrow at 11 am.

Baseball Team Wins First Game of
Playoffs!!
The Varsity Baseball Team started of on the right track in game one of the Suffolk County Class "C" Championship by beating #1 seed Center Moriches by a score of 9 to 2. Brett Moyer allowed 4 hits while recording 15 strikeouts. Peter Rauseo's two-run double in the third put the Tuckers ahead for good. John Scaramucci had 2 hits and 2 rbi's. The Tuckers play game two at Mattituck today at 4 pm. Good luck team!
05/19/04 -- Baseball Team Begin Playoffs Tomorrow
The Varsity Baseball team will begin the playoffs for the Suffolk County Class C championship tomorrow 5/20, at Center Moriches at 4 pm. The team will be playing Center Moriches in the Finals which this will have a best 2 out of 3 series instead on a single elimination game. Game 2 will be held at Mattituck on Friday, May 21 at 4 PM. The Tuckers try for their first County Championship since 1997. Good luck guys!!!
05/17/04 -- Baseball Team Ends Season In Second Place
The Varsity Baseball Team finished up their season in second place with a record of 14 and 4. The critical part of their schedule occurred the week of 5/4 when they played first place Center Moriches. With first place on the line the team need to take two out of three from the Red Devils to have a chance for at least a tie for first place. Which would have been the team's first League Championship since 1987. Unfortunately the team was only able to win one game out of the 3 game set. In game one the Tuckers lost a close one by a score of 5 to 4 in eight innings. Losing pitcher was Tom Boucher. In game two the team was blown away this time by a score of 12 to 1 which gave Center Moriches their fourth consecutive league title. Losing pitcher for the Tuckers was John Boucher. In game three the Tuckers were able to salvage a win with a 13 to 8 victory. Brett Moyer was the winning pitcher while John Scaramucci went 2 for 3 with 4 rbi's.
The final series of the season was against Pierson/Bridgehampton and the team was able to sweep the three game series. Game 1 found the Tuckers winning handily by a score of 10 to 2. Tom Boucher picked up the win striking out 11; while Kyle Dillingham hit a 3-run homer in the first inning giving all the offense the Tucker really needed. In game 2 the Tuckers won by a score of 10 to 5. Brett Moyer picked up the win to get his pitching record to a perfect 7 and 0 striking out 11. Kyle Dillingham went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and two rbi's. In game 3, the final league game of the season, the Tuckers completed the sweep winning by a score of 13 to 2. Joe Finora was the winning pitcher striking 12. Kyle Dillingham was 4 for 5 with a two-run homer and a two-run single that both occurred in the sixth inning.

04/28/04 -- Tuckers Lose Non-Leaguer to Babylon 11 to 3
The Varsity Baseball Team realize that they have to improve their play if they intend to go far in the post season. Although the team has already clinched a playoff spot, they know they must play better than they did yesterday against Babylon, losing by a score of 11 to 3, or else they will be eliminated early in the playoffs. Joe Finora was the losing pitcher.
04/24/04 -- Baseball Team Sweeps Port Jefferson
The Baseball Team beat Port Jefferson by a score of 6 to 4 to complete a sweep of the series. Kyle Dillingham had an RBI double in the sixth to give the Tuckers the lead for good. Brett Moyer picked up the win. The team's record in League VII is 10 wins and 2 losses.
04/23/04 -- Tucker Nine Shutout Port Jefferson 15 to 0!!
The Varsity Baseball team had a field day against Port Jefferson defeating them by a score of 15 to 0. Winning Pitcher, Tom Boucher, pitched a four hitter while striking out 10. Brett Moyer went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's and 2 runs scored. The victory guaranteed the Tuckers a playoff berth. Their record is currently 9 and 2 and they are in second place in League VII.
04/21/04 -- Baseball Team Opens Series Defeating Port Jeff
The Varsity Baseball team won their fifth league game in a row defeating Port Jefferson by a score of 5 to 4. Once again it was another comeback victory. Trailing 4 to 3 in the bottom of the seventh Glen Hamilton had a two run single scoring Brett Moyer and John Scaramucci to give the Tuckers the victory. Kyle Dillingham was 2 for 3 in the game with 2 doubles and an rbi. John Boucher was the winning pitcher. The team is currently in second place with a 8 and 2 record and only need one more win for a playoff berth.
04/19/04 -- Tuckers Sweep Mercy On Another Moyer Pitching Gem
The Varsity Baseball Team completed their sweep of Mercy with another pitching gem by Brett Moyer by a score of 9 to 0. Moyer allowed only 3 hits and struck out 11. Brett also hit two doubles in the game.
04/17/04 -- Scaramucci and Tuckers Do It Again!!
The Varsity Baseball team had another dramatic victory against Mercy. In the top of the eighth inning John Scaramucci broke up a 5-5 tie with an rbi single putting the Tuckers ahead for good. The final score was 9 to 5. Tom Boucher was the winning pitcher.
04/16/04 -- Tuckers Win It In the Seventh
The Varsity Baseball team came back to beat Mercy in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring twice to win by a score of 5 to 4. John Scaramucci's single drove in 2 for the victory. John Boucher picked up the win in relief.
04/13/04 -- Moyer Throws Second No-Hitter of Season!!
Brett Moyer threw his second no-hitter of the season this time against Southold. Mattituck won the game by a score of 1 to 0. Although the Tuckers could only muster up two hits themselves, Moyer was able to score the only run he needed on a passed ball in the 1st inning. Brett had 13 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks. The Team is currently 4 and 2 in league play.
04/12/04 -- Baseball Team Drops Non-Leaguer 5 to 4
The Varsity Baseball team lost a non-league game against Half Hollow Hills East by a score of 5 to 4. It was actually the consolation of the Janoski Memorial Tournament played earlier in the season. John Scaramucci was the losing pitcher.
04/10/04 -- Tucker Nine Split Doubleheader Against Hampton
Bays
The Varsity Baseball team split a doubleheader against Hampton Bays. They won one game by a score of 13 to 3. Peter Rauseo was 3 for 4 with 6 runs batted in. Tom Boucher got the win, allowing 3 hits and had 4 strikeouts/
In the other game the Tuckers fell by a score of 17 to 6. Joe Finora was the losing pitcher.
04/03/04 -- Mattituck Bounces Back With Victory Over Southold
The Varsity Baseball team bounced back after a defeat to Southold winning the rubber game of the three game series by a score of 8 to 3. Kyle Dillingham went 4 for 4 with a double and 4 runs batted in. Brett Moyer picked up the win.
03/31/04 -- Baseball Team Gets Shutout by Southold
The Tuckers second league game of the season was not as successful as their opener. This time they lost to Southold by a score of 10 to 0. They were only able to get 1 hit in the game. Tom Boucher was the losing pitcher. The game was called in the 6th inning due to darkness.
03/29/04 -- Moyer Opens League Season With No-Hitter and Game
Winning Homerun
Brett Moyer was a one man show in the league season opener for the Varsity Baseball Team against Hampton Bays on Saturday. Brett threw a no-hitter, striking out 18 batters and also had the game winning hit which was a homerun to lead the Tuckers to a 1 to 0 victory.
The team continues their league season with an away game at Southold on Tuesday, March 30th.
03/27/04 -- Tuckers Lose to Shoreham in Jared Janoski Memorial
Tournament at Shoreham WR
The Varsity Baseball team lost their first game of the season in a non-league tournament against Shoreham WR by a score of 7 to 2. Joe Finora was the losing pitcher.

The Boy's Varsity
Baseball team are hoping to improve on last year's record where they finished
with 8 wins and 12
losses. Their main goal this year
is to make the playoffs. The team
has five seniors returning—Jon Florsz, Bret Moyer, John Boucher, Chris Stein
and Steven Cook. Mattituck’s
strength will be in their pitching which includes Brett Moyer, Joe Finora, Tom
and John Boucher. The pitchers have matured this year and look to be very
strong. Other notables are John
Scaramucci, Glenn Hamilton, Jacob Sisson, Pat Sheridan, Pete Rauseo, Tim Spath and Kyle
Dillingham.
